Swarm references: a bibliography database about collective behaviours
This is my site Written by Simon Garnier on December 5, 2007 – 6:01 pm &bull Filed Under Swarm Intelligence

I recently decided to start an online bibliography database about collective behaviours. I am nearly certain that such an online database does not exist but should be useful to many people. The goal of this database is to make an inventory of all kind of publications related to collective behaviours in general, in both natural and artificial systems. Currently, the database is almost empty and I plan to fill it progressively. Of course, if you are interested to help me fill and maintain the database or if you have comments about it, do not hesitate to contact me.

The database is powered by Aigaion, an open-source web-based bibliography management system, which offers the opportunity to organize the publications by topics and to cross the topics in order to find publications which are part of several topics (for instance aggregation and robotics). This feature should facilitate the clustering of publications by the specific main interests of each reader.

The database is currently hosted on my own server. The access to the database entries and the exportation of the database entries toward Bibtex or RIS are opened to everybody, but the modification of the database is only allowed to authorized people. Contact me if you want an account. Two kinds of accounts are available: reader account allows the user to leave a note and a comment for each paper, and to manage its topic registration; administrator account allows to add, edit and delete publications from the database. This latter account requires that the user follows some rules so that the database does not become a mess.

To avoid problems with copyrighted materials, this database does not provide copies of the publications, but rather provides links toward legal copies of the publications (if available). When available, it also provides a link towards the professional website of each author cited in the database.
